Why the hell were you doing regedits instead of just imaging with WDS/MDT or similar and joining to AD?

Still not great
Not really, it’s really amazing how fast things to go shit if you just stop patching or don’t follow best practices
I don’t think so, you get pretty used to the shift+f# pretty quick. In my experience most of the common option like prompt, exit, expand options, and cancel are on the normal row like F4, F3, F10, and F12.
Get used to the command line and learn to think of words without vowels lol you’re going to be writing work and display as wrk and dsp from now on.
Do yourself a favor and do a wrksbs when you get access and learning what subsystems are part of your org’s operation and what they are individually responsible for. Remember look don’t touch for a while like all new systems. Good luck and enjoy the green screen life!
I don’t get it either, but I also with with AS400s daily and therefore need f1-24 and I’m not going to deal with all the layering setup needed for that when I can get a normal keyboard and hit shift+F4 for F16 instead of shift+left ctrl+F4. It doesn’t seem like much but when you’re using F13-24 a lot then it gets annoying.
I also want numpad, I don’t want to type IP schemes on the number row
American schools
A good use case for American k-12 IT admins
I’m in IT management at my company, the general management and HR folks basically require anyone in a leadership position to have a filled out LinkedIn profile with it linked to your Office account so it shows up in your outlook card and linked in your signature. So we look “professional and tech-driven” since all social media is lumped in with the tech industry for some reason
Foss has its uses, this isn’t one of them. Get her a life alert or other fully supported solution as this is something her life could depend on and it’s not worth the risk
I try not to
And that’s great, the extreme minority of the human workforce that is doing programming is free to use Linux if they want. That doesn’t change the fact that windows is the best option for the majority of the worlds workers so long as an it department makes half a dozen settings changes via group policy.
Karen in accounting doesn’t need a customizable kernel or a terminal that allows unfettered control of the OS, she just needs her excel macros and pivot tables to function so she do brain dead spreadsheets 9 hours a day.
Fun is not the intention of a workplace and the majority of the workforce doesn’t have need of terminal use for their job. Windows properly controlled with group policy works well for the majority of the workforce, hence why it has a dominant market share
That’s because your it department either sucks or just doesn’t have time to fix this. Windows can be made to be great for work environments, as evidenced by 80% of all workers who use a computer using a windows computer
I just don’t pirate games or software, not worth it. I feel safe that mkv and mp4 files aren’t malware ridden
I’ve heard torrent leech has the same problem. The same guy uploaded it everywhere
Buddy it’s been posted here a dozen times since BG3 release
There’s no unregistered hyper cam block yet and that makes me sad
Problem is that without the appropriate GPOs being setup, Microsoft will keep reinstalling the Xbox shit. And they keep changing how it happens so the GPOs need fixed every 6 months or so. It’s quite annoying, easier to just set one of my AV suites to attack and quarantine any games as malware and alert my team so we can have a talk with someone’s manager when they try to download destiny2.
No… we just won’t buy the recall PCs and will disable it on the normal enterprise licensed workstations via GPO. Could always block the update in WSUS as well if you’re using that vs another RMM tool
