It comes with eveything for gaming and multimedia work pre-install, the 2 thing I use my pc for. Codecs, steam and proton, Da Vinci resolve, etc. Flagship version uses KDE. There’s a nice little app manager. Really easy installation process. It’s a fedora spin-off so it follows the same release cycle, usually updated within a few days. Updates use to be a bit complicated, breaking drivers, etc. but it’s much more stable these days. There’s not a huge community, basically discord and reddit, but people do try to help. Usually you can follow the instruction for fedora for any tricky installation. Great distro overall.

Fair enough, these are interesting points. I pay for ssd storage and host Nextcloud on it. It use to be quite sluggish but nowadays it’s fast enough for my needs so I don’t really see any reason to change. I use the office suite, the rss feed reader, memories to sync my pictures, task, and quite a few things actually. I dont need talk much for now but I might. So yeah, it really suite my needs for now.

What’s wrong with Nextcloud? It’s not as snappy as google drive but it’s fine for small organisation IMO. I personally really enjoy it.

That’s right, it’s actually LPCM that isn’t compressed. I don’t think I’ve ever seen people using wav as a container for compressed audio but it’s indeed possible, thanks for the clarification.

FLAC is a lossless compression format. It will reduce file size but keeps the audio quality. So-called “high-res” format on streaming platform like spotify (mandatory fuck spotify here) are usually mp3 320kbps so heavily compressed and lossy, indeed.

PCM Wav is uncompressed (best quality) and FLAC is lossless compression. FLAC will keep the audio quality while significantly reducing size of the file so ripping a CD to FLAC is a good idea.
