Hello, I successfully rooted my Pixel 8 Pro but I am stuck at “Phone is starting” after enabling Zygisk and rebooting. It does boot fine into safe mode tho. What can cause this issue and how can I fix it? Thx a lot!

My post specifically talks about rooting the Pixel 8 Pro, I do not see why you would promote the use of gOS.

Not a good idea to use it. You are rewarding its dev and its community for rabid dog behaviour. They belong to 4chan, where they astroturf the most. But now they are starting to astroturf Lemmy, since Reddit’s privacy community is dead.

Pick Calyx if you want that Pixel bootloader locking, there is no evidence that Graphene is secure in real world testing. On top of it, they go around inventing lies on YouTube comment sections how they bought $1M Israeli Cellebrite kits and tested it against boot attacks. If someone is lying to market their snake oil, chances are good its no better or even worse than other similar products that exist.

Enable the developer options menu by going to Settings ➔ About phone/tablet and repeatedly pressing the build number menu entry until developer mode is enabled.

Next, go to Settings ➔ System ➔ Developer options and toggle on the ‘OEM unlocking’ setting. On device model variants (SKUs) which support being sold as locked devices by carriers, enabling ‘OEM unlocking’ requires internet access so that the stock OS can check if the device was sold as locked by a carrier. Connect the device to the computer and install Grapheneos via browser.

You need to boot your device into the bootloader interface. To do this, you need to hold the volume down button while the device boots. After install OEM was lock again.
