the one I use is kega fusion, downloaded from flatpak, last updated in 2009. Being that old not all controls work correctly anymore.

Usually I just use whatever core comes with RetroArch.
Nowadays the best option for Sega seems to be Genesis Plus GX.
The Genesis Plus GX dev themselves recommends Ares or jgenesis though.
