Good news for 12 Linux users who has fingerprint working
Thinkpad / Debian / Gnome: Works.
dont use biometrics as a security solution. always use something that requires you to be conscious and coherent.
That’s where multi factor authentication comes in. Biometrics are something that you are. You also need something that you know.
Being aware of your threat model and evaluating options accordingly is always good.
But don’t do Perfect is the enemy of good
Compared to using the same password everywhere, easy for everyone to guess, which is the de-facto norm for non-tech people: using a Fingerprint for your devices is an improvement.
We need different fingers loading different profiles
