LTT has always felt too smug for my tastes. Particularly Linus himself. It’s to the point that none of the revelations coming out about LMG and their internal drama is particularly surprising. It’s exactly the kind of behavior I’d expect from a “we can do no wrong” kind of group.
What really bothers me is that Linus is leaning on the parasocial relationship aspect of his popularity. He acts like he’s my buddy in need and not the star of a really big brand.
I never knew how to express that feeling where people move back and forth from capitalism and humanism. Last time it was at the eye doctor which is also a store to sell overpriced glasses. It feels fucked and makes me want to stay home.
