The rumours were true, EA have re-released the classics. The Sims Legacy Collection and The Sims 2 Legacy Collection are live on Steam now.

Search github for “The Sims Starter Pack” and “The Sims 2 Starter Pack” instead. Its got all of it and its free and legal

  I don’t think the official release has the shadow or resolution fixes and the IKEA stuff pack so I’d definitely go with the fan pack
