To be honest I have no idea. I saw the Plugins option but no explanation as to what it’s for

I’m a big fan of Kvaesitso. It does nearly everything I’d like it to do. Quick question though. I never figured out what plugins I can use or where to look. Any pointers?

I didn’t see it on droid-ify for some reason so I took the 5 minutes to finally figure out how obtainium works. Not sure why it wasn’t listed though

If you’re ever looking for a portable sound machine that is small and good for travel but also not on a smart device, I highly recommend this one. I got one of these for my first kid and it lasted for 4 years and many trips. The battery died after that due to overcharging but it was very useful for one setting. Got another when the second was born and they both still listen to theirs.

This post got me to figure out how to use obtainium. Now I’m legally smarter and enjoying some brown/pink noise

Is Summit not FOSS? I thought it was. I use sync but that is my favorite alternative.

I use it daily. The only thing I miss is casting to other speakers around my home.

I turned it on for a couple of days when it first came on but it really messed with my texting and I hated it. Why implement a feature that makes it worse for fi customers?

I’ve been on this for a couple months and have enjoyed the experience as well. I imagine some of the overall issues encountered are more about my phone being nearly 6 years old than the launcher itself, but is the default weather widget broken for you as well?

Oh and my supervisor quit a month later, right after he got the end of year bonus. I don’t blame him. Good dude. He helped a lot of the team secure other jobs in the industry within 3 months

That happened to me. I noticed a vague Monday morning meeting when I logged on. Checked with my team to see if they knew what it was about and no one knew. Supervisor was MIA on slack. Just before it starts we got a group text from him that essentially said, “what the fuck. I’m so sorry guys. I’m not allowed to speak or I’m immediately fired”

I checked the invite list and, sure enough… VP of department, VP of HR, my supervisor, and my small team. I instantly knew we were all fired.

Joined the meeting a few minutes early and it was just my teammates all wondering out loud what’s going on. They’re all pretty young. Couldn’t help but blurt out, “nice knowing yall…”

Supervisor texts me with “please don’t, we’ll grab a drink right after this”

The cool executives log and blah blah blah your team is getting shuttered thanks bye.

We did get drinks at 9:30 in the morning.

To your last point, imo that is the single biggest hurdle. Initial sign up inherently creates what I like to call menu anxiety. The extra steps and the time involved is contrary to all popular practices. You have to start customizing your experience before you even know what you’re getting into, which is the inverse of how it is done everywhere else.

And then there’s the potential to join an instance that is too small, where existing users haven’t yet subbed to communities that may interest new users. They won’t know they exist (without searching externally) based on the feed. Changing instances isn’t currently intuitive or appealing to regular potential users.

I’m currently okay with how things are. However, mainstream adoption just can’t happen until the devs achieve their goals. I’m a huge fan of their work already. We’re a long way away from 1.0 but I do believe we’ll get there.
