I have no fear the way it was stated seemed to imply that’s where the root had to point. Glad it’s not the case. Seemed odd to say the least but it was referenced absolutely so that’s what I thought. Not a problem.

If that’s the case then I probably don’t need gui but I would prefer to be able to put files wherever I want. Like if I want the web root to be somewhere other than /var/www/ that’s actually not really gonna work for me.

Does Thunderbird have unified inbox? And how well does it deal with Exchange? Just do imap mode?

Beyond all that, the ripping process will tend to destroy any reliability of having a manipulated pixel remain exactly the same unless the person uses absolute lossless with no compression.

It’s actually not what I was using; I was using nativefier to make webapp using electron. I guess I’m just gonna ditch all these ideas and just stick to Firefox and that’s it.

Yeah clearly that’s the choice. It’s not a huge deal obviously I’m just using the sites in Firefox I was just hoping chromium was a possibility.

The thing is, we (you know, us) are very dependent upon Firefox and their management has really exhibited some stubbornness in the recent years with regard to some issues that the user-base really don’t agree with. No I’m not citing examples I just have encountered this more than once or twice in the recent years with a variety of issues.

I just ordered a tab a7 lite for myself for some casual use and I read in advance it could be owned with a variety of things to the best of my understanding. I’m hoping it won’t be too much trouble.

You could get a decent lightweight netbook type machine that’s maybe under a decade old and only have to shell out like $30 and you could Linux it just fine. Until not long ago I was using a 13 year old Toshiba laptop and it was kicking ass. I only replaced it because for sheer cpu power I just needed something faster for certain things.

I had Ubuntu on two of my ASUS transformer pads and I finally caved and went back to Android-x86 on the one that I use as a tablet more frequently. I really wish someone would make a proper full fledged touch distro for tablets, and at the same time I totally get why nobody has gone to the effort yet. Android kinda has it covered enough. I tried Bliss but some elements of the OS just would not play nice.

I think if any DE is close enough to what a tablet should have it’s Unity, and I don’t see anyone trying to bring that up to speed with Wayland etc. but it seems to be the best candidate short of making a DE from scratch - which might just be the best idea when all is said and done.
