4·2 days agoYeah, my neighbor’s believed in this a lot. My counter argument was always “How can you vote for hate?” Wasn’t anyone around for his first term?

Linux@lemmy.ml•Finally switched my fiancee to bazzite, fuck me was it a trial
2·27 days agoYeah, i have an example of this. I spent since time today building a local copy of handbrake have it run in a distrobox of arch to get AMD hardware acceleration as an option. The flatpak version refused to do this. It wasn’t too bad, but still wild i did this.

Linux@programming.dev•Have you or someone close to you converted to Linux recently (with Windows 10's end of support)?
1·1 month agoCool. It’s pretty slow on my machine. I almost tempted to pickup one of those mini pcs with windows 11 on them and just use it for that one thing… But it’s only a though and not a very good one… Lol

1·1 month agoHave you considered a Windows vm? That’s how i run that single program that i can’t get working on Linux. Yeah it’s slow AF on my system, but it’s not used often.

Linux@programming.dev•Bazzite has gained nearly 10k users in 3 months while other Fedora Atomic distros remain fairly stagnantEnglish
8·3 months agoi just installed bazzite on an A6-6400k system and it works really well. i first installed Fedora, but an amount was missing to get my 1030 running for media decoding. Yeah this system should be sent to the grave, but it’s working and doing what i need.
I also run this on my daily laptop and works very nice.
tailscale worked some times, but seemed to depend on the location of the moon relative to the air speed of a nearby sparrow and it was really slow.

10·5 months agotime for me to find an alternative

I haven’t used arch (yet) to form an opinion. I do however run bohi on a laptop. It’s been rock solid, but I offten scratch my head when I’m using it and end up questioning my life choices.
