People say companies’ main purpose is to make money, when those companies do stupid shit like this it really calls into question the truthfulness of that statement. Since they’re clearly losing customers and money while not gaining anything for their efforts, then they’ll jusify their bullshit by saying “Market research”, “predictive Revenue intelligence”, “Customer satisfaction” and plenty of other buzzy corporate terms that sound smart but don’t really have much meaning.
They’re brainwashed chuds, it doesn’t really matter what they think.
Unfortunately people like that tend to be on the less logical side of things, in addition they also tend to believe themselves to be superior to others, so it’s unlikely he’ll actually do any research on that matter. It’s likely that for him in gaming communities in the past this approach has worked, as those communities typically do not challenge baseless accusations or logical fallacies, not how it works in intelligent communities though, maybe he will learn it eventually, though in my experience on Reddit people like that have no restraint or filter whatsoever, they only stop once they have been hit with the ban hammer.

You seem to have a very strong delusion that you are in control or somehow winning claiming that you have “shut me up” when the only thing you have done is continue to make unsubstantiated claims about the OP based on your own opinion alone, and all but admitting that they are completely unsubstantiated while you try and strawman my arguments, claiming that I am blaming linux or proton, or trying to claim that I am debating whether the OP is actually banned, yet another strawman.

Whether you accept it or not EA is a terrible company who is well known for being hostile towards their customers, and has already had many similar incidents happen before already. This is an opinion very commonly shared both by people in this community and Lemmy as a whole (which generally leans towards anti-corporatism). An opinion which is still an opinion but is backed up by the history of this company and their practices, which have been hostile towards their users but also their staff and developers too.

People weren’t blaming proton or linux for him being banned, it’s well known that it’s because of EA and the anti-cheat they use being unreliable and them being unwilling to address the issues with false bans to linux users.
