  • Ok great, I noticed the little wiggle room they give you to upgraded, but it didn’t occur to me I could use it to nudge around a service building! I’ll give that a try. I think the best approach for me is to make large roads for arteries, and branch into smaller roads into residential zones. So that upgrading tool will help in some of my cities now! In my current city the smallest road I’ve used was Medium, so people already hate the noise, and I’m not sure if the upgrade tool can downgrade, suppose I’ll test it.

  • That’s good to know! I thought there must be a way to do it, because other wise the makers had failed hard. Thanks for the video, I bet it’ll clear up a lot of the other issues I’m having with traffic! One thing I always struggled with is road size. If you start with small roads, they can congested, if you start with medium roads, they work better, but residential complains of noise all the time.

I’m glad they have the upgrade option, but it’s tough to use when you have placed facilities like clinics or fire stations. I wish it could just bump the facility back to the new width of the upgraded road where room is available. Having to manually move every service building isn’t great.

  • Yeah, I struggle with this too, certain routes are popular and get used constantly causing huge traffic jams. I try to provide alternative routes but they don’t care. I also don’t understand how you’re supposed to make highway on and off ramps, because instead of traffic on the on-ramp just merge into traffic, the high way comes to a stop to let the on-ramp cars in. This is about Cities: Skylines 2 btw.

  • I’ve been playing the game and have been seeing performance drops and over all poor performance as a whole. It isn’t show stopping though due to the type of game it is. But yes, I was playing yesterday and saw something fly over the city when I was zoomed in, I paused the game and found it was a police helicopter, and that son of a bitch was as detailed as you’d expect to see in a game with helicopters you could fly your self. The amount of texture and geometry detail was insane for something that is going to be a spec 99% of the time.

  • I’m excited for this game, I’ve loved city simulation games since playing Sim City 1 on SNES at a friends cabin. I hope the new traffic AI changes help, because C:S1 had such serious issues with traffic, it just insurmountable. If the AI changes help make the city actually flow correctly, maybe that’ll correct my number one problem in C:S1, dead bodies wouldn’t get picked up no matter how many crematoriums or cemeteries I had.

I hope this game comes out soon, the way they’re dripping info makes me feel like the release date they have in mind is waaaay out there.
