I’ve tried a lot of different tab management systems. Multiple tree tab extensions, a couple that build off the built in container system, a few different non plugin browser tweaks, and some random other crap for stacking or deactivating idle tabs. None of them fully feel right for me.

I forgot what the current thing I’m using is called and I left the computer at work but it groups tabs into workspaces and has some sort of container integration I haven’t fully investigated. It seems lacking performance wise though.

I generally have around 1500 tabs at any time for various topics of research, news or updates for various things. More often than not I find horizontal tabs to be a hindrance and the only thing that could make them worse is if they shrank to triangles and made a sawblade like chrome tabs.

I’d get one if it was like $300 less

I use it on my steam deck microsd to cram more shit in via compression. Main drive is left as ext4 though so case folding can be used for particularly janky windows games or mods.

I had enough of Nvidia when they dropped support for the GTX 460 in windows and Linux and I had to swap out the card to do anything meaningful on the computer. Nvidia, keep your taint away from my kernel!

It would be nice to see projects like this with all the leaks we have had over the years if not for the legal bullshit. Or even just a code review to see what kind of weird shit devs used to do.

I used Manjaro for several years but it requires so much manual intervention on updates that don’t work. Just straight arch or endeavor would be easier in the long run imo. I use tumbleweed on my current main computer though.

Back in the day when we used to be able to just leave our bikes anywhere around town and expect them to still be there, the one token black kid got accused by an adult I didn’t know of stealing my essentially abandoned bike that I told him he could borrow and what it looked like and where I left it. That kinda just stuck with me for the rest of my life. Time to make a keyboard that self switches between qwerty, colemak, etc and has some sort of indicator of it’s layout, and spits out random recordings of its own key presses, and you just have to be insane to type on it correctly.

Can you just take apart abandoned things for parts in the states? Probably just have to be a white male and no problems?

Opensuse and a couple other distros I tested can do this too right out of the notification panel which is thankfully easy enough for my parents and grandparents. I still end up using the “quake style terminal” most of the time and just flatpak through the notification sometimes.

Damn. We need a FOSS server but publishers probably would not agree. Not having to make and link a middleman account would be a bonus though. Client could probably be arranged for on some devices but even on Kobo which isn’t really locked down I would not consider running unofficial software beginner friendly.

I can’t even bring myself to use the gui update tools on distros that have them. It just feels like doing anything with extra weight strapped on to every limb.

In the Intel core 2 era I played with doing this and trying to have the kernel and software all optimized and compiled for the specific hardware of the specific computer I was using and the performance gains if any were negligible.

I’d lean towards no.

But since I’m such a great servant to random people, deck: as in title, arch Linux and Ubuntu: 0.1 and change, Manjaro and mint(? I already forgot): 0.0something … I have 256kb of memory and most of it is reserved by bloatware.

I got CompTIA a+ when the exam had windows XP specific questions. Maybe it still does, I dunno. Anyways in the jobs I applied for nobody had even heard of it. The interviewers were mostly professional interviewers and not IT staff as far as I could tell though. I also ended up hating IT work which always had an infinite supply of clueless managers in every job.

The other day I got one of these for an amber alert but I ignored it and kept on working because they keep sending test alerts at random times but often enough, including while I’m asleep, for it to become a boy who cried wolf issue.

I know a few people that hide them in their bike frames. Will it tell bike thieves that the tag hidden in the stolen bike is following them?

I still can’t bring myself to use a foldable because tempered glass protectors would not work.

I could see carrying a foldable tablet if there was some mystical case and screen protector setup that didn’t suck but even just a tiny scratch just destroys me inside.
