Rule 1 of linux people. They hate change. Unless its the change they like. Then they love change and hate the old thing. Unless they change their mind then they hate the thing that they changed their mind on.

Rule 2 of linux people. The way things are right this second when they learn about it is the way it will be for the next 20 years. It doesnt matter what changes or how it changes. Unless they see it and experience it first hand it still works the same way as 20 years ago. But see rule 1 for why they will never go back and check on the progress of new software.

A steam machine is literally just a PC with linux installed on it with a handful of presets. Go buy a 500 buck shit box from walmart and install cachy/bazzite img that has those presets out of the box on it. TA da done you have a steam machine. Its literally that simple.

Nixos is the new btw distro. Everyone runs arch now it’s old hat. Steamos, cachy, it’s boring and normal.

Nix OS is the new hotness it’s where all the cool kids go.

And cachy is consistently faster and has better .01 and 1 percent lows.

Linuxes real issue is almost always unstable frame rates and performance. Cachy does manage to bring the bottom up.

The only expection is AO rated games. That rating actually does carry legal requirements and restrictions. There’s a big reason it’s used so infrequently.

M rated games are only 17+ it’s for minors. There’s no legal restrictions. AO is 18+ and actually does carry legal requirements to sell.
