I’ve tried a few distro’s recently. Pop os, mint, and nobara. Mint was pretty bad (i really wanted it not to be), nobara was good but had issues with sleep and after a month my sound quit working. Pop OS has been flawless and I love that I can set the workspaces hot key to the windows key.
For me, it just works, it does what I want it to, and it’s not selling my info. A year and half now after leaving windows and I love it. Peaceful

It’s “refurbed” by the seller. It also says it has approximately 35,000 hours on it. That’s 4 years of continual use. I wouldn’t trust that with anything.
I’ve been running wayland on popOS for a year now. Works great. It’s already installed, you just have to into a file and either delete a line or change false to true. Takes about 2 minutes.
What distro’s and what issues did you have? I’m curious because of how good it has worked for me this past year. I wanted to switch to Linux for the past 15 years but there was always something that didn’t work out enough that it was a deal breaker. Now, I have no issues with anything.
“recent years”, yeah I agree, years ago it wasn’t very good for a daily driver, especially if you want to game. I have no complaints now and it feels great to not be using a malware os.
I know it helps, but I do have an Intel/Nvidia machine hooked to my tv that my son uses and it’s just as flawless so far.
The people hating on it are either shills or people that tried linux 10 years ago and it wouldn’t run their game so they’ll talk shit. I’ve been over a year now full time linux and it plays all the games I have and have gotten. I’m really impressed with how much better it’s gotten over the past few years.
I run pop os with AMD hardware on wayland.
What software do you require for your job that you’re a business owner that won’t run on linux? Or are you just a troll?
They do, absolute workhorses with no bullshit. Only printer I will ever pay money for.
Gotta be a Brother
You haven’t tried it recently. Every game I play works flawlessly and is just as good or you can’t tell vs windows. I’ve been back and forth for 20 years and now I’m 100% and have been since February. I love it, and I’m happy to have my OS be my OS and do what I want it to do.
Now, to be somewhat fair, I built my new PC with the plan to go Linux. I went team red and a single ultra wide monitor. I wasn’t sure about the single monitor at all at first but now, man I love it. I have it setup so when I hit the windows key I can pick a new desktop. The only thing I can’t do is watch video’s while I play games and it doesn’t bother me at all.
I had this problem so I just hit the high seas for a much better experience. Then I cancelled my service because clearly they didn’t want my business.
