The first thing I do whenever I install anything is to go through the settings. To turn off trackers, analytics and explore the accessibility features.

As for “supporting the dev” I don’t really get this concept.
It can be both.
If you are looking for native Lemmy apps for Windows, I don’t know if they exist.
But here is an awesome updated list of webapps available for Lemmy: The Great Big List of Lemmy Apps
You can create a shortcut for them on your desktop. These are fast and minimal and have different styles. There is one webapp in there that is very similar to the old[dot]reddit site.
The Moto X (2014)/(2nd gen) was such an awesome phone with a solid build.
I bought it in 2015 at a huge discount instead of the One Plus 1. I used it till the end of 2019 until the battery gave in & the USB port became useless.
Except for the smaller battery size & ok-ish camera, everyone had praises for that phone. My favourite part was it’s shape & software.
It received the Android 5 & 6 updates even before summer Nexus phones. And the updates were stable. Times were wild back then.
Google, the poor multi-billion dollar scrappy startup that maintains Android, made a payment app that has one notification setting, “Google Pay”. So all the ads, promotions, everything.
Amazon is another poor startup that does that on their Android app.
For me it’s their constant Credit Card upsell notifications.
I guess the iPhone sales numbers in the US are keeping them awake. I personally think Apple will only bend if they are forced somehow by the US government, like the way EU did with type-C.
Wasn’t Cloudstream shut down?
Can you eli5 what’s that?
Thanks I’ll check it out. I forgot about FMHY.
OffTopic: Why is it called A/B testing? I’ve mentioned a few times in the Revanced communities.
Thanks. This was very well explained.
I want to start doing this with my social accounts. What apps do you recommend I should use on my Android? I’d definitely want to backup these secret codes somewhere else, in case my phone is stolen or broken.
Can someone Eli5 what’s this about? My guess is this is about windows game emulation on Android.
What do you use it for? I’m looking forward to setting this up.
I have not used any 2fa app before. I’ve read that if we lose the codes then we are locked out. So, people take offline backup of these codes. But, I’ve seen these apps refresh these codes every 30 seconds. So, how does this backup work then?
yep. GoodLock rocks!
What’s cinestream?
I was actually highlighting all the popular options for ad free YouTube on Android.
There’s also newpipe x sponsorBlock
Isn’t Firefox open source? So isn’t it possible that anyone could see the changes being made even in the nightly versions? I’m not a programmer so forgive my ignorance.
