Yeah like they (the Windows sheeple) celebrated a CLI package manager as if it was their best invention since sliced bread. Every Linux user was like yaaawwwn… “finally”

Why? Because most are working for free and don’t have time for BS. Let’s be serious, the amount of BS or low-effort tickets is high.
When an unpaid dev is sacrificing free time improving or fixing GNOME tickets better be well-written.
Having said that, closing well-written and well-reasoned tickets “just like that” and willy-nilly is ofc not OK either.
Arch is “fixed release”? Since when…
Musk can go first. Maybe it’ll help him save Twitter. Or he goes into the nuthouse. Either way, it would be a win.
If you want cloud storage I’d recommend Nextcloud as a service (I’m not affiliated with them, just a customer)
Works like a charm. You can even install plugins. Also, there are other companies that provide hosting so there is no vendor-lock-in.
For this exact reason I’m using NextCloud as a service. You can even install plugins.
It’s a trade-off ofc but it works rocks solid so far.
I’m not affiliated with that particular provider though.
Linux FTW. Number 1 on servers, now number 2 on Steam! Watch out, Microsoft /s
The post says ~42 % is Steam OS
I’d bet that AI still gets to appropriate it as its “own” creation.
Are there identities of russian Babushkas for sale anywhere?
/s but not really
BIG INTERNET is coming to get us
Stick to the defaults for the time being and only do custom things when you have time to fiddle around. This is not specific to Linux though.
They say “it’s always greener on the other side”. Can’t say it in this case though. I’m using Arch Linux BTW.
It depends on your use case and what you are trying to achieve.
You do not need k8s (or k3s…) to use containers though. Plain old containers could also suffice, or Docker Swarm if you need some container orchestration functionality.
Trying to learn k8s would be a good reason to use k8s though :)
If you have trouble remembering git commands for CLI have a look at the tool tldr
:
https://man.archlinux.org/man/tldr.1.en
For example if you need to remember how to use the branch
command you could look it up with
tldr git branch
which would give you an overview on the most popular use cases.
And in case you don’t already know: You may want to use the history search tool of your shell by hitting CTRL-r and then for example typing branch
. You’d get a list of past commands you have used containing branch
that you can flip through by repeatedly hitting CTRL-r.
Great but what I’m missing is the information that “usr” does not stand for “user”, like many people think or even say. If it would the name could actually be “user” and not “usr”.
The chart actually does not say what exactly it stands for. It’s “user resources” AFAIK.
It’s worth clearing this up in my opinion.
