The worst kind of stupid doesn’t need to learn about databases because it’s just common sense.
The sense of ownership and control the Linux experience offers is something I’ve never felt with Windows.
I went through this same thing myself a few months ago. I ended up getting it installed but I’ll have to check my obsidian files to remember how I did it.
As @nullPointer@programming.dev recommended, I ended up dropping MySQL Workbench and using dbeaver instead. I liked it much better not only for the features and how easy it was to use but also because I remember it was hard to get Workbench to work in the first place on Fedora.
