I use my smartphone only as a flashlight, so that’s good information to have.
There’s Mozilla Corp and Mozilla Foundation. The Corp is what runs Firefox (“supported” by sponsored content (that’s complained about) and deals with search engines).
Mozilla Corp is a subsidiary of Mozilla Foundation.
If all ties with sponsorships are severed, Mozilla Foundation is what would keep Firefox afloat.
The existance of these sponsorships are pseudo-equivalent to donating.
It’s gross if you have donated to the project. If you haven’t, I see no issues with getting an ad I can turn off.
Well, that’s not in YouTube’s interest, so I don’t know how you can blame them for not being publicly owned.
If it somehow magically becomes publicly owned, your bills/taxes will reflect that (as they do with TV in many countries, it just gets added to the monthly electricity bill, whether you use it or not).
I really don’t think it’s greed. Can’t blame em for trying to win the cat/mouse game of adblocking. I’m sure it’s not the end of the world, and new ways to circumvent this will show up.
There are more small phones than big phones. I want an iPad mini-sized phone and there’s virtually 0 options.
