2 months agoThat sounds about 25 mins longer than i’m willing to call a standup.
if it’s not wrapped up within 10 mins of the scheduled start time something has gone horribly wrong

I’ve not had any of these issues with VSCode and i do use it just for the seamless Remote Development over SSH abilities.
The learning curve for it is a lot less than Vim even if Vim is likely a much more powerful tool imo
I’m so glad i got rid of my nvidia card. Having to reinstall the divers and kernel-headers every time my kernel updated was getting old.
I knew of falcond as the service that makes my work mac run slow.
Unfortunately, having a mac meant i didn’t get friday off unlike most of the rest of the company

Far Cry 3 and SteamVR looked to be broken installs i probs copied over from an old device. they weren’t even showing up as installed in the steam library, i deleted the folders.
As for 7 days to die, i deleted the EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe and ran verify integrity of install files. it didn’t get redownloaded so i dunno 🤷♂️
The “Last Played” time for it was July 14th 2014, so it’s unlikely it has ever run on this machine
well i have my own coffee machine at home and i only go into the office like once or twice a year so i’m not THAT upset about it. i just dont get why they wouldn’t just move them from the old to the new office
Bean to cup coffee machines legitimately was part of the reason i took a job at my current company.
Then during covid they downsized offices and got rid of them all.
Now all we get is instant coffee…

i work for a big multinational and there was this woman who walks around with a little yappy thing. she’s the only one and i haven’t seen any rules about it in the employee handbook. i think she just turned up with it one day.
they also included an extra $262 in comps for having bet aggregately over a quarter of a million dollars.

Yeah but then that would be human manure which is a little (although not much) more dangerous to use on stuff you’re going to eat
you gotta rot it down a bit anyway. stick it in the corner of the garden and leave it until the following year.
Otherwise you’ll get weeds all up in your veggies

2·6 months agoI was getting stuttering on my server the other day but i think it was caused by mismatched client/server versions. When i upgraded the server to the latest release it went away

I also once completely destroyed the data in a db that wasn’t backed up for that same company while trying to restore from a dump (which was deleted as part of the script i was running).
Luckily both of these mistakes happened on staging servers so no one really cared. (prod is backed up though so if i did it there, not that i have access to prod, it also wouldn’t be catastrophic)
I use JS if i’m doing something on my own
TS if i have to work with other people
