I think it’s because their business model is not straightforward, well I for certain don’t understand it
Like what for example?
Massive boner* FTFY
What’s the GPU?
I think he’s referring to one of the top comments on this post with two links, here’s one of them: https://kagifeedback.org/d/865-suicide-results-should-probably-have-a-dont-do-that-widget-like-google/
Although I don’t exactly understand why they’re calling him a fascist. Seems to me you need to go to their discord to understand, not sure.
My linux usually boots very fast while Windows takes its sweet time, but still within 5m from power on to everything is up and warmed up.
So not something that stops me from rebooting to play a particular game
I never got their messages
That might be just it, the perfect excuse to help ppl move (double edged though, can be used against you too). Thanks for sharing this tip!
“It’s on our internal roadmap, will get to it post Search”
Don’t see an option for it in the Notifications setting, asked in their Matrix. There’s just an option to turn memories off or on atm.
There’s also a feature request forum, perhaps someone asked for it there already if it’s not a thing
Try that, that guide also references other packages/software that might be helpful.
You only get that EAC error once you join a server, so hopefully that’s the issue. Let me know if it helps or if you have trouble with the guide steps, hopefully I’ll be able to help
Wdym? Running it?
I just had to re-extract the easy anti cheat files using this guide.
I have to do it on everyupdate. I’m pretty sure I left Temp with write permissions because otherwise it’d sometimes get stuck on VC Redistribution installation.
I believe I’m running in the latest Proton version
I understand, I’m just impressed with their features and availability for support (via email/discord)
They’re great! Their support is super responsive, I once complainted about a bug only to have it get fixed the other day (though don’t expect it to be the case for every problem, they will still respond).
Their apps work great, they’ve got a great selection of features, memories, hide photos, photos map (see where you took your photos on a map, if location is enabled, an amazing feature), share albums and have the option for users and non ente users to add photos, and there’s more.
All of that with e2ee.
Been a customer for at least a year now, and I’m really happy with my subscription.
The widgets weren’t for me. I think there’s also a matter of security where you’d want the app libs to be updated once in a while for patches.
Tldr: not saying don’t use it, just adding something to consider
The last commit is from Jun 2022. I believe it’s no longer under active development and instead a clone emerged and being actively developed under Breezy Weather (see other comment for a link)
I’ve heardabout Jitsi, what else is out there? Is there a list for these?
I wasn’t aware, thanks! I guess I’m fairly lucky with my setup then, being either popular or just supported
I exclusively play Steam games on my Ubuntu machine because I don’t have to do anything, it just works for me (only had to set up proton once on Steam and I was done forever).
There are sim games that I just boot into Windows to play them.
The boot up time of programs and privacy is worth it in my mind.
TIL, thanks!
