adding extensions would alter the fingerprint - removing the ability to blend in with the herd which is the whole goal of mullvad browser.
Sounds like librewolf is for you!

For the OS: Debian
Hardware: a modern thinkpad
Had a similar issue as did one of my friends with pixels, which is unfortunate as grapheneos is one hell of a operating system.
After having 2 different pixels break (planned obsolescence) I ended up settling for a fairphone (which I can easily repair and replace parts myself with e/os - but divestOS also looks promising.
Debian stable + Flatpak
Agreed.
For any (k)ubuntu refugees, do as I did and switch to Debian!
Exactly the same issue with me, I bought it on Good Old Games when I used to run windows as I love the premise of GOG, a similar ethos to Linux of actually owning software - but steam proton is just infinitely more practical.
Have a look at Linux mint: Debian edition (LMDE)
Plain ol Debian
for what its worth, I have a hybrid setup and use; https://github.com/bayasdev/envycontrol
https://syphon.org/ is worth a look, its still in alpha but is very promising
Debian 12 is my first step into the Debian world. Is it just a matter of sudo apt update/upgrade to receive the release or are there extra steps?
I loved Joplin until I realised that your data is stored (locally) unencrypted.
I moved to https://crypt.ee
Is aurora being incredibly buggy with the rate limits for you as well?
I would personally Install Calyx - you can relock the bootloader, the install is meant to be easy and the community is supposedly very friendly - you should be able to troubleshoot without issue.
(I haven’t personally used it so YMMV)
If your interested in a more private OS for your phone - I did some searching and unfortunately GrapheneOS won’t support the 3a anymore, and the DivestOS is broken for the 3a.
If your feeling up to it, I would recommend either CalyxOS or LineageOS:
Launch your browser.
Right-click on your toolbar to open toolbar settings.
Click on Customize Toolbar.
A new page with a list of items will open that you can drag into the toolbar.
Click on the Add-on and drag it into your toolbar.
