Gotta love Candlemass. I wish to sound an ounce as heavy as they do someday.

You said it all. Episode 8 ruined everything forever. I didn’t even bother trying to watch episode 9 after that, and been majorly checked out of anything SW since. The last good SW movie was Rogue One…
They lost the deal for it, after how badly received the end of GoT was. Then again, the new SW trilogy managed to be shit entirely without their help.
I have been able to follow all racing events I wanted for the past couple years through a few trusted restreamers that I found, sadly now, via Reddit on r/motorsportsstreams. They don’t have a community in the Fediverse yet (some of them opting for very badly managed and unmoderated Discord servers) but I hope that they do, soon. Their streams are very good and often better quality than official sources.
I play Assetto Corsa. I have downloaded 300GB worth of cars, and I’ll do it again.
Thanks for the comprehensive response. I have a sizeable friends group in a Discord server, and we’ve discussed having alternatives to that if Discord goes to shit. Good to know that matrix can at least be a competent partial replacement (for the text, if not the voice) to Discord. We tried Guilded a while back but didn’t stick to it for over a week. Some of our guys still advocate for TeamSpeak, whenever the new version finally comes out.
So, how would one go around finding “servers” or “communities” in Matrix? Is it like, themed chatrooms? Does it support media embeds like Discord? I really don’t know anything about Matrix lmao.
Shit, eMule still exists? The only thing I remember about using it centuries ago, was the high chance of downloading viruses, and getting shitty rips of single music tracks.
I’d suggest buying the base game to use the Workshop, and then pirate the DLCs. But also, you are making one big assumption here, that the DLCS for the new game will be as easy to pirate as the previous game, or other Paradox title. They might not be. But we hope they will.
At this point, even with them putting the game on the Switch virtual console, and me owning a Switch, I’d still rather emulate those games. Them being on a subscription service that will eventually be taken down irks me to no end.
Having Lemmy alts is not a bad thing. Using them to circumvent bans very much is, tho.
