I’ve heard some people say that but I don’t really get why. It was their last solidly good album imo.
Also zeppo@lemmy.world. Not a lot of Zeppos out here.

It’s very simple to have multiple desktop environments installed. You can select which one to use from the login screen, or launch X from a console and then start the DE from the command line.
It would be no problem to remove the office software you’re not using. I doubt that’s connected to any other packages through dependencies.
I assume because it’s more customizable.
Oh, and Max tried to make the whole band about him. That’s why they split up.
Andreas Kisser is a great guitarist, though, and Paulo Jr. looked at me one time when we wandered past a trailer by where they were playing a show somewhere.
Plus there’s the video they had where Paulo Jr. said they invited him to join the band because he had a brand new Brazilian bass.
Everyone in sepultura is a a bad ass, though not so sure about Max now.
It does, and it’s sensitive, but I’m very careful to avoid accidentally triggering it and this doesn’t happen on Windows.
I have no idea… I use YT in FF on both Linux and Windows every day and have not had any problems with it.
If you really want a GUI, TightVNC over an ssh tunnel.
12 years after we learned Flask. 19 years after Django, which also was apparently hot 2 years before it was released.
Huh, okay. I thought it was a quick way to set up a VM - that’s how much I don’t know! I should probably look into it, thanks.
Yeah, that’s really what I haven’t used that seems significant these days - Docker. I used to use VMs a fair bit including the premade ones from MS for IE testing, which I think (?) are the same concept.
Sigh, I was a sysadmin on my own system from 1999-2008 and on a busy server from 2008-2012… then essentially quit. Now with flatpak and snaps it seems I have no idea what I am doing.
It’s a matter of distro and the installation process. I must note, I installed Linux dozens of times from 1999-2012 and not as much since then. Back then, while of course one set the root password, it didn’t ask about sudo privileges during installation of Debian, Ubuntu or Mandrake. And yes, that’s true, you can always boot from a different installation (such as a Live CD) except it is more complex if it is an encrypted filesystem.
I’ve had to set it up manually. May depend on the distro, I suppose. su won’t work without the root password.
sudo should only ask for your user password. What do you mean “sudo root”? Do you mean “su”? That would require the root password.
One of my favorites has always been “sudo passwd”, which works for some reason
Interesting, thanks for the clarification.
You’re not putting traffic on the server that hosts a community when you browse it from another instance. Also, I believe when you post and upload an image it’s hosted on the server you’re browsing on, not the federated one that has the community.
Oh, okay! Unfortunately I don’t know about those features yet. I see Multi Account Containers is a plug-in by Mozilla, but I wasn’t able to find anything about per-tab sandboxing.
Awesome name and avatar btw! I played the absolute hell out of the game on C64. Also “hacked” it to create this ridiculous “Curse of the Beholder Patron” by copying the Beholder enemy file over Bar Patron, which meant the first fight in the game was against half a dozen Beholders. Didn’t matter since I also hacked the shit out of all my characters.
