I don’t know what this is
“Xtreme programming practices”.
Lmao what!
Programming class at school when I was 15. Basic Delphi/object pascal back then. Was always into technology beforehand, especially tinkering with the first android phones, rooting them and installing custom ROMs
Google removing features, and bringing them back pretending they are new. A tale as old as time.
Swore there was a flag that allowed you to do this years ago.
Redditors complaining about CSAM? Last I checked Reddit had a subreddit called r/18_19 (a porn subreddit for adult teenagers aged under 20) with over 1.5 million subscribers. I sorry, but there is no way that all the posters there are over 18, given Reddit’s lax verification practices on NSFW instances. That’s some “trust me bro” nonsense. Reddit had r/jailbait and violentacerz not even a decade ago. Spez was there back then too.
I have never seen any CSAM on Lemmy. If it’s an issue, it should be dealt with the utmost urgency and concern though.
(e.g., one of their politics mod making a mod-flaired comment about how “The United States is not a racist nation,”
Lmao what? The heart of the global empire is somehow not racist now, despite all the evidence to the contrary? After all the police killings of unarmed black men, how can anyone believe that?
Samsung moving to four years of OS updates, and 5 years of security updates, is what pushed Google to adopt this new policy, as Google only offered 3 years of OS updates beforehand. So Samsung will probably try match Google again.
Yes it is, I’m commenting on it right now. You can import all your app settings from the Reddit version of the app too, if you still have it installed, or you still have your config file lying around. It’s what I have done so I have a pitch black theme lol.
In my first programming class in what Americans would call middle school (I was in grade 9), we got introduced to scratch and used it to draw penises lol.
They also kill performance if you’re still using a hard drive as your system drive. I know we should all be using SSDs, it’s 2023, but sometimes it’s not always possible
Settings > connections > more connection settings > private DNS
I’m using private DNS on mobile data right now. It’s system wide and not dependent on WiFi
I find using a DNS server that blocks ads gets rid of them. You just put the name of the server (like “dns.adguard.com”) in the private DNS field in settings and turn it on.
I find the setting on my phone in Settings > connections > more connection settings > private DNS
Third party apps for Spotify is definitely the way to go if you don’t have premium.
The same way you install revanced, you basically have to reinstall it with an updated APK and patches. At least that’s how I did it.
I use YouTube revanced, and after a quick update a few weeks ago it’s working fine again
Surprised by C# and Java. People always moan that they have too much boilerplate code and something else about how OOP sucks and that makes these languages too verbose, yet they’re close to the top of the chart here for least characters used on average.
The cover screen seems like an awkward form factor for typing though. There’s a reason Samsung and Motorola have the cover screen take up the full width of the phone, it allows the keyboard to be of a similar size as the one on the inside folding display. Motorola went even further by matching the pixel density of the cover and inner displays for a more consistent experience. Which makes sense when you can use all kinds of apps on the cover screen, which both Samsung and Motorola allow, and Oppo will allow with the Find 3.
On the other side of it, the aspect ratio of the cover display on the Oppo closely matches the aspect ratio of the inner display, whereas the Samsung and Motorola cover screens are more square.
Three cameras seems cool, but is it worth the sacrifice in cover screen size to the average user?
Missed opportunity for a handshake joke
