I had no clue there was a watch app. I launched it and it automatically connected to my instance and allowed me to open my Home feed. No special setup needed.
Seems like it just shows a single post at a time and lets me choose “Next Post” or “Save”.
I know this doesn’t really help solve your problem, but hopefully it’s somewhat helpful to know how it “should” work.

I’ve been having what I believe is the same issue on iOS. Dunno which version it started with and I’m on the beta, but it fits the entire content within the phone’s display instead of how the content is typically displayed zoomed in to the corners get rounded with the display’s rounded corners. (Hope that made sense; it’s hard to explain)
I don’t know what’s correct; maybe I’ve just gotten used to this?
But, specifically, my experience is with external links to images the images appear full size while with links to websites the hero image (I don’t know if that’s the correct term) isn’t. I also don’t know how a hero image is chosen when a website has multiple images.
Settings —> Filters & Blocks —> Hide all NSFW works for me.
It’s been a year or two since I was looking into it and I didn’t have a NAS at the time, but another one of the issues I had was the tiny selection of cameras available. I tested some Aqara G2H Pros and the Logitech Circle View. The Aqaras I added local storage to and at least could get continuous recording, but event seeking is pretty terrible. The circle view was, despite very well built hardware, essentially useless. Keeping it connected to the network was basically impossible
I’m curious how writing to the NAS works. Is it just a bunch of files dumped to a network share or is there some sort of timeline viewing software available? Are they giant continuous files? Individual files for events? Without knowing the details it seems like it would be a nightmare to navigate and actually find useful information.
How was support experience wrt replacing the bad cloudkeys?
I will admit I gave Protect an unfair advantage as it’s the only fully first party solution I tried (unless you count Apple HomeKit Secure Video?)
Protect with 3rd party cameras is indeed lacking. But it works like magic with first party cameras.
The only other solution I’ve tried was QNAP QVR Pro with third party cameras and it was awful
Sounds like you’re having better luck with HKSV than I did. For me that is where I started and quickly bailed on it despite the unlimited cloud storage. It just did a terrible job at recording video. It would always end the recording with the detected subject still in the frame. It was incredibly frustrating.
Is this a common issue folks have with Protect? I haven’t seen it talked about so far.
TBH, for me, Protect has been so much better than the other NVR solutions I’ve tried it has been a big driving force behind the appeal for me.

I remember especially hating all the extra categories and freemium content plex added that I wasn’t interested in viewing but couldn’t remove (or at least did not find a way to remove).
Not doubting your experience at all. For all I know it’s a new option; I just discovered it, but for the other folks like me still stuck with Plex, most (all?) of this can be disabled in the Online Media Sources setting on the server (yeah - I know 🙄)…
I think the situation under discussion is converting plex users to jellyfin though. Most plex users won’t have a reverse proxy setup because it’s not needed.
I’m ready to replace plex but unless something major has changed in the last several months I simply can’t understand how people feel jellyfin is a comparable solution to plex. I couldn’t even get past the user interface and it falling flat on its face with media recognition.
