Yes that is what I thought too. Google is still good for looking up movies and games and such, but for tech stuff and shopping it has noticably declined.
Also the updates situation has caused many to dislike Windows.
Linux is a perfectly viable OS at this point, it’s not just for tech geeks. I did have a problem with my USB Wi-Fi adapter during the install but other than that everything was just as smooth and less creepy than Microsoft.
Who better to compile a binary than the person that wrote the code?
That’s what I did, followed a recent tutorial and installed Ubisoft Connect in desktop mode. After you’re done you can run it from the Deck as a non-Steam game.

I agree to an extent, but most games just work in Linux with no slowdowns or glitches. And I’ve had to mess with many games in Windows over the years to get them to run.
IMO the new green is harsh and not good.
I’m surprised that isn’t the default.
I think the reasons are they are pushing a competing product.
I know it’s like high school and college party life, I’m trying to figure out if they’re just random or from a particular group of people.
It would be good to protect against malware. Bad for apps you legitimately want to run in the background. As usual it seems like a tradeoff between giving the user a choice while not overwhelming uninformed users.
Pragmatism is putting tomatoes with the vegetables because of taste, which is one of the most important parts of food.
I’m sure this will have good and bad consequences.
