I just noticed someone should try xkill if they get the chance. If that doesn’t work they should rephrase the question. That is all. This will be my last grand contribution for today. Have a nice Wednesday everyone :3
I just never got the appeal before, knowing what I knew. And I never cared to acquire more knowledge about Bluesky because I was perfectly happy with Kbin and Mastodon etc…
Now I know a little more about it and what you said makes sense to me. My mind will remain unchanged though until they leave the invite-only era. I may give it a try then and see. Pre-edit: I’ve actually joined the waitlist now because why not.
I’ve been against bluesky since I heard they’re invite only. It just won’t work, maybe future proves me wrong (as it usually does) but I just cannot physically believe in it.
There’s way better and bigger alternatives already (Mastodon, hello?). Mastodon’s federated as well. Everything I’ve known so far that was invite only really didn’t go far.
But I don’t know anything else about bluesky other than it’s a Twitter alternative and invite-only currently, so tell me if I’m wrong? (Obligatory :3)
Idc about anything right now I’m hungry af and the only thing I was able to read was crackers fml
Me neither, the only nagging notifications I get are from Malwarebytes which I should uninstall soon anyways. Am from Germany though so that’s that.

Yup, can understand if your library is small, but for bigger libraries that’s definitely the most inconvenient thing you can do.
Speaking from experience because I was basically forced to do it that way when I didn’t have regular internet access yet. My library was longer than 50 days. Just Hip-Hop alone was above 100GB.
I used to find a shitton of music that way, but the inconvenience was real. Worst was music that I had to tag myself for example. Love mp3tag but that’s shit.
Makes sense, I don’t use any of them, at all. I’m pretty sure there’s a place where you can report such webpages for doing that though, though I don’t know where at the moment.
Edit: possibly this one
That’s gotta be quite some website you visited, if it didn’t load at all without cookies. As someone from Germany, who mostly rejects every sites cookies, except for the essential ones most of the time, but sometimes outright rejects all cookies, I’ve never encountered a website that refused to load upon doing that.
Not defending any webpages that do do that, just contributing my personal experience.
Also: this for chrome or this for fiefrerfx

I’m unsure sorry, I’ve only ever used it on Linux.
Just gonna drop by to say that I love Crystal
The crazy part about it is, that even if every instance blocked everyone, you could always host your own instance and I think if you host one just for yourself and maybe a few friends or something it probably wouldn’t even cost a cent.
Lemmy.world is the biggest lemmy instance, it makes sense that they attract everyone even those type of people. They don’t understand the concept of distribution, of course they’re gonna go where the number is largest. I wouldn’t go as far as to say it’s the admins fault for the people that went there.
“Though a 1/4 of a Burger may be bigger in their eyes than a 1/3 of that same Burger, the ingredients stay the same.” - Winston Churchill
Difference 2 is it’s not really powermodding. At least not from the way I personally understand powermodding. Imo powermodding is when a mod decides to get rid of content they personally just don’t like.
In this case they got rid of a big risk to the instance itself, because, if someone decided to upload pirated content on here it would get federated to all instances that haven’t blocked the one initially distributing such content. Like another user said on this topic, this could be compared to torrenting, only without the direct P2P distribution. The risk of course falls on the people hosting the instances.
Since they host these instances pretty much for free aside of donations, that are not a requirement, and the fact that, like nanometer said, you can just choose not to be part of the instance (and register to another instance), I wouldn’t put blame on the admins of lemmy.world in this case.
It would literally not hurt them to open source anything <= 3DS now after the eshop closure. The act of doing that and everything that would come of it (e.g. rom hacks) would actually be a pretty good PR move imo and maybe they’d even find new developers, acquainted with their code, that could be hired by them so they have developers that actually know how to develop good and optimized games.
One can sadly only dream.
I don’t get it. I was pretty much replying with a programming related answer, being “:q”. I only added my personal flair to it, being “:3”. And I only expanded after another person assumed me to be a furry as well.
If you want me gone because of that, you got to get your priorities out of the gutter, there ain’t none. And fix your stereotypes too. The other person at least replied humorously. You won’t get a “:3” from me. Good day!
