A now inactive account likely made them, but that person no longer uses Lemmy. If it wasn’t “taken over” it would be unmoderated. Consolidating those under one account is easier on the admin and let’s people willing to mod know they can request the community

I dunno, I’m one of those people who never stops using a drive until it breaks, and they never really break anymore. Oldest in my current PC is probably 20 year old HDD.
So yeah, these probably are fine and will still last a long time. But for like $20 more you don’t have to worry about losing the data on it.

I’ve blocked a ridiculous amount of their meme subs, but there’s nothing to do about their comments.
If there was more of them, then I might consider moving to somewhere they don’t federate with.
Throwing a tantrum because someone is used to nongendered pronouns is just ridiculous.
I use they/them/ya’ll for pretty much everything. There’s very few cases where any type of gendered language is necessary.
We should just move away from it all together.
I just don’t get their logic insisting people use gendered pronouns, it’s not misgendering, it’s just not including unnecessary context.

Honestly, servers are about the only use for HDDs these days.
It’s better to have huge files on a HDD than small ones on an SSD. So get a SSD for operating system and programs. Then a large HDD for media.
