I only need simple excel and mostly rely on word processing so I’ve never actually known what exactly ms excel has that libre doesn’t
Is it like actual macro/coding capabilities within excel or just convenience/file compatibility stuff?

Fortunately it takes only around 5 minutes of customizing the appearance of libreoffice to have it exactly how you want it

Yeah because your conduct is likely to make them and others think poorly of Linux when it’s eagerly foisted upon them by a plucky nerd
So it’s important to tell people like you to relax and let your family voluntarily come to you asking for Linux instead of enthusiastically try to convert them

No they won’t you’re just projecting and should leave them alone
You’re clearly desperate to proselytize the greatness of Linux when you should instead just enjoy it yourself and if they want to switch they’ll ask you in the future

Don’t mess with other people’s computers and switch their operating systems around unless they actually want you to
Just mind your own business very few people care about “the freedom of linux”

I try to buy things directly from company websites if possible but if I can’t I just go to Amazon because they have a great return policy and stores suck now anyway
It can also be more expensive in stores. I saved $5 getting an official Xbox controller off Amazon versus in person target (where I also needed to find an employee to unlock it and there was a line of people at the tech counter already)

This is incredible
Yeah it’s definitely a bit weird to setup but I don’t think I can leave gnome now that I’ve finally made it mine
You can actually buy Linux computers from dell and Lenovo and they’re even cheaper because you don’t pay for the Microsoft license

Well then there’s no realistic way to actually supervise what they’re doing in Roblox because you would have no idea they’re talking to creepy adults every single day for years unless you actually monitor them

Good policy but unfortunately we all do have to care a little bit about what other parents do because they’re causing problems for society at large that we can all reasonably fix with smart policy

Also sounds good in theory but kids often want to play with their friends so good luck trying to isolate them like that
Plus, I’d put money at least 95% of parents aren’t going to want or be able to make comprehensive enough parental control schemes to do more than filter out violence and curse words, hardly effective against child exploitation
Plus with them basically shutting down the FBI…I’d say don’t let them play it at all

Good in theory but can you actually picture parents watching their kids play Roblox every time so carefully they don’t miss them talking with the wrong people?
I mean…that doesn’t sound remotely realistic

If you’re hung up on the basic assumptions necessary to make the thought experiment work as clearly intended then you won’t get it neither

I’ll be honest, a lot of those are pretty stupid
Obviously the wires are connected
Obviously one switch controls the light
Obviously the lights start off
In a thought experiment you can magically reach the lightbulb if you want
Obviously you cannot bring a friend
Obviously you cannot see the light from the switch
Obviously you return to the switches

The answer isn’t intuitive anymore now that lightbulbs don’t always get hot 🥲

I’d much rather organize dnd with you over WhatsApp than deal with whatever it is you want to do
Youre making it even more difficult to have friends

…take the hint and go make your own friends to do activities with lol
Try sudo, that usually always works
