I have a Pixel 6 Pro. Different phone, but same generation and same SoC so the experience should probably large be the same. I had zero problems installing GrapheneOS. The web installer was much easier to use than recoveries like TWRP. Performance is really good, fast and smooth. Can’t tell the difference between GOS and stock. Hope that answers your questions.

• If you’re going custom ROMs, always go with an official custom ROM. Go with a well - trusted one that is consistent with updates, not an official ROM that may be dropped at a moment’s notice.
• Always choose devices that have long - term support and are consistent with security patches like the Google Pixels (5 years). Do not choose brands like Xiaomi as their lackluster updates mean that you will receive late security updates, and proprietary drivers for the components in your device will go out of date in 2 years. Your phone will be insecure and cannot be made secure when those 2 years end.

GBoard is the one Google app I put in my owner profile. I’ve tried every recommendation I’ve seen and nothing else comes close to how good Gboard is.

GrapheneOS has a built in firewall but yeah anything that creates a firewall should work.

Get a number from a service like smspool and create a burner Google account to log in to Aurora Store. It’s the only way for Aurora to work reliably.

LineageOS doesn’t claim to be Degoogled, and it isn’t so I think it would be an improvement, but a small one. It would remove the trackers your OEM has built into stock but that’s about it. It’s still phoning home to Google.
