So as far as I can read this is a self hosted system to search multiple sources at the same time and then display them together?

Some yes most are still causing issues. Might also be that my headset is wireless so there is a few extras steps involved in the experience.
Personally I prefer MPV but yeah both just wrap around FFMPEG
