Same thing here. What the fuck is this?

Since all instances mirror comments on subscribed communities you could simply create your own instance, leech it all and sell to LLMs. No need to go to the trouble of hosting a large instance.
Nextcloud Deck has been pretty solid for my usage.
You could do it via tasker, if you learn out to use it. It can be a little frightening at first but is stupidly powerful.
I guess Bixby routines could work as well.
I am sorry I misread your post and thought you talked about lemmy… Haven’t been to Reddit in ages…
Nevermind my question then.
~~I don’t see those fights you speak of, maybe I managed to avoid them ? Genuinely curious. ~~
Edit: I am a moron and cannot read. Thought the poster above was talking about Lemmy…
This. I have much more quality discussions here than I ever did on Reddit. Not sure wtf they are on about.
The account that initially posted the video has been suspended by Reddit as well.
Seems to confirm the fact that the complaints were not seen as more than gossip. This meeting sounds like a not so elaborate attempt at lid installation on a boiling issue.
Safer for the torrent site. For the people running it, eh, who knows.¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Is going public online while alleging criminal misconduct that happened 2 years ago is easier?
Yes, actually.
You can’t really believe it is that easy. Filing a police report is, in most countries, an excruciating exercise in frustration and humiliation for women victims of harassment. It carries social stigma on a level that is astounding. Add to this the level of gaslighting usually deployed by abusers and you have a recipe for self censorship.
Probably safer to move to Russia or North Korea.
This looks a lot like victim blaming.
If the alleged facts are indeed true, it is incredibly difficult to even manage to get the police to care, let alone act. Not to mention the social stigma and the trauma.
Given the number of people involved, other people might be compelled to come forward. Then we will know for sure.
“Not a good look” should be the least of her concerns if she was indeed sexually harassed.
I have seen this kind of shit happen. The shock factor is another reason why it is so hard to talk about. All around people kept saying “I’ve worked in this field for N years and never saw shit like this”. It happens, and it is fucking everywhere. Some of us don’t encounter it, but it is there. There is a real law of silence around these systems.
I used jitsi extensively with my students during the pandemic. It really is a lot better now, and very easy to use.
Do we have any indication they are trustworthy?
The ansible Lemmy playbook is actually very good and quite easy to set up. Don’t hesitate!
