Worse comes to worst, if you’re doing it just for this one movie, you could map one of the files into the right folder using a bind mount.
Yeah, same. I have a Roku account. It’s not perfect, but it works.

If you’re running docker, you can use a gluetun container for your VPN networking; it supports port forwarding, and you don’t need to mess with your router.
I recommend Proton.
For the second point, you can mark the earlier seasons as viewed (click the checkbox at the season level, or even at the show level and then uncheck it on the latest season).
