Paperless has taken me from various stacks of important documents strewn around my apartment, to having all of these things nicely organised and searchable.
For me, having the symbols I use in a function layer is better than having them spread around, because I don’t have to move my hands as much.
Maps sourced from OSM might be more precise for off road stuff in busy locations but in general Google maps will be more precise for city streets if you’re looking for an address.
The quality of OSM data really just depends on how many people are interested in mapping the area. Look at German cities for example and the data is excellent.

+1, I use waymarked trails, combined with https://brouter.m11n.de/ (which can show the trails) to get distances and elevation.
