But for JS it’s already there. You can just write a program, upload it someone, send someone a link and it runs. And it’s even sandboxed.
(Although thanks to webassembly, that will be true for many more languages as well, so maybe my argument is void)
Not saying it should be used for everything, but it is a pretty decent language nowadays (lots of the annoying parts have been fixed in the last 15yrs). Although the main benefit imho is, that it is the closest thing we have to an interpreted language that runs everywhere.

It could be Typescript or Rust. But probably a lot of oter languages have enums expressed like this too. Likely not C, because no semicolon, and no prefix on the variants.
It’s been a while since I looked into details of wayland, but one thing I recall is that a lot of things depend on the specific compositor / desktop environment you are using.
X is very open: you can easily query open windows etc, while on wayland things are less standardized / more hidden.

Without any context (no idea what this community is), my brain says this line is interpreted as a list item by a markdown parser, amd the left margin for list item rendering is wrong (too low, or negative). Maybe whoever wrote it tested with single-digit list items only?

Integers are just integers in ruby, with no structure backing them. They behave like objects, but only in some respects. You can call methods on them, but you can’t extend individual numbers with properties for example (which would require them to have structure).
