O but do it manually, not because a script will eventually break your system with a partial update, but because the excitement of watching your AUR packages get a new release knowing it is a gamble for system stability.

Nah, I played all Cyberpunk from GOG with the earliest versions of Proton. I believe I dirst used Lutris for installing it. Should be ok IMHO.
I would suspect some screensaver/sleep command running in the background, if the 10 mins is really consistent, but like another comment said, we are just guessing without logs.

Might as well be, are you in an older Linux Mint version? Although if the Heroic games are running fine there shouldn’t be a problem.
Btw, if you run steam from the terminal you can probably see if there are some errors reported when running the game.
You might also try running your game through gamescope that might work even faster.
Stop… Just Stop…

Can you tell me which Nvidia card you have? Your comment “since a few weeks” makes me wonder, were all working fine before?
If your other games in GOG work then you could try disabling the Steam Runtime environment. In my computer I would be using Steamtinkerlaunch for that, so you could try it.

I don’t know AMD CPUs that well but could it be you are CPU bound?
I have the same gpu RTX 3070 with an i5 8600k and Im CPU bound, not by much though. Last time I played Witcher 3 it was running very good only in Novigrad it was stuttery due to the amount of characters

Thanks, friend, I spend 4 hours configuring Mangowc and DMS yesterday. It was fun. I have not heard of these projects.

This, I had hear of Ventoy for a long time. The idea is splendid you have a bootable drive where you can load all your OS ISO, tools and whatever it need to boot from a drive.
You may look into this https://github.com/madic-creates/Sway-DE
And also some documentation on DEs: https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Desktop_environment
In case you don’t know, Sway is not a full desktop environment like KDE or Gnome, it’s kind of a DIY thing. Sway is just a Window Manager, then you need to set environmental variables, the XDG portal that someone already posted, file manager and probably a way to manage themes.

That’s all I can think of when I hear/read “if all goes well”

Narrator: “It won’t go well”

I still get the impression something is wrong with your install, could you try booting from a external drive to a gaming Linux OS? If that still happens maybe something is wrong with your HW.

King you dropped this: https://github.com/alvan/vim-closetag

Nice nice, I thought as much, sometimes it do be like that. You might be able to disable the compositor for the game itself OR use gamescope, but i have never successfully achieved that.

You can run steam trough the terminal and you will see what causes the error. But it seems you have had some issues with your install, I would recommend you try another distro.
If you don’t want to try installing Plasma as they handle things differently in the background so it my be more stable.
Do this:
sudo systemctl --user enable pipewire
Tell us more about your set up, are you on a laptop or do you have an external usb Audio device?

Hey! We do not kink shame here.
I believe he should check his NM Status like this:
systemctl status NetworkManagerOr also check the logs dmesg o journalctl
