Thanks I give it a try, problem for me is that I need to plan route and then put it in cyclocomputer. I don’t need any other bs.
I would like to find alternative to Garmin app. It is bad if you don’t want to use the cloud features, also you can’t plan routes without internet connection like wtf that’s the only reason I bought it for.
It is little bit more buggier but it may be the hardware and I can’t get it with xfce.
I don’t want to mess that deep in the system, just get it to my favorite theme and leave it be. So it is basically out of the box experience.
Which flavor did you choose? I am now rocking basic mint with XFCE on my older machine and LMDE on newer.
As someone using maps only for cycling and walking. I mainly use mapy.cz, they work well in Czech but can be clunky in other parts of world but EU should be ok. They have incomplete car navigation, it is getting there more of my friends use it now.
Othervise I try OsmAnd+ and Organic maps (osm clients) and it is good but mapy.cz are better in most cases.
I switched because w10 got too heavy for my old shitty laptop. Now I got new shitty laptop with w11 and will soon it will be cured by Linux.
My old laptop will retire as server.
Didn’t expect Europeans at my boring night shift.
Czech here ;-)
You should make Rocky Linux, just for the pun.
I have shity low end laptop. It was fine for w10 at first but each update made it worse. I tryed cleaning, reinstall… But then I installed Mint. It was amazing from unusable to snappy. I still use it and it is enough computing for me (browsing, office, watching movies…)
Yes for the basic thing most people buy it and it is this fucked up. Also it uses Google maps, they are bit useless for cycling.
I have more mapping apps and all of them have offline planning.
