We do a quarterly test.
I have the DB guy make a change, I nuke it and ensure I can restore it.
For us. I don’t work for Veeam, while I don’t like their licensing. Veeam is pretty good
Hth
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Yeah. It is kinda hard.
Backups. First and foremost.
Now once that is sorted, what if your DB gets corrupted. You test your backups
Learn how to verify and restore
It is a hassle. That’s why there is a constant back and forth between on prem and cloud in the enterprise
We make it a drinking game…
Whenever a salespeople or a demo uses weasel language. DRINK!
Thank you. I’m totally going to steal “Tech debt reduction “. Ffs
While I appreciate that these benchmarks matter to someone; I’m more interested in hey it runs and is reasonably supported, not requiring hand rolling any config
Hey this XX runs fine.
Sigh, kinda… but don’t forget to factor in your backup costs too
Tee hee. Maybe you could go to Circuit City?
Sorry.
Doing no research, you might find a third party book that has a cd dvd ?
What issues does Ubuntu LTS have that you need to overcome?
What use case ? - desktops for office work, music production, a student lab?
FWIW. Kubuntu is my favorite, generally used for research and reading, light web mail.
Actually- yeah.
Perception is reality; while hardcore nerds are willing to roll their own distributions, there’s a reason Ubuntu is damn popular. Most normal people want their computers to work, and to have an easy discoverable ecosystem.
So yeah. A Big deal
I’m to SEXi for this LUN
To SEXi for your SAN
To SEXi for your ‘visor
Yeah.
Hell yeah! 👍
Please update when it is available
I don’t use b2, rather; I have a personal account. Backing up 3 computers and they’ve never said anything over years So. Yeah it’s fine
Sorry yeah. MacBook Pro.
It does what I need to do my job. I’ve got all the terminal tools. SSH ping nmap. MS makes a great Remote Desktop app And the built in screen sharing works great for VNC. SO. YEAH
I would not ask at the interview… I’d wait until after you’re hired…
I’m not a programmer; but a system administrator. 4 Linux and 250 windows 1 Mac; In our org. I’ve run off a MBP for 17 years now. And not had any push back when I requested it, just said I’d prefer a then 15” now 16” MBP.
Good luck
Longer lasting I think; leave it powered on and warm.
Best in reality; buy 3 drives, and after you do a backup move one off site.
3-2-1-1
But we’re an EDU!!!
DO NOT install a second M.2
Use the external drive
If the internal drive is in there, you could be asked at work to turn it in. It is not a good look to ask to remove an internal drive.
Well that’s kinda the point. Missing your factors is supposed to make it harder.
So — account recovery code written out, that doesn’t say it is for your account?
E.g. Apple allows it as a backup to your Apple ID should you get locked out.
Depends on the syy
I love pihole, for my family it is better as it helps on all the devices. Being able to block malware and tracking is nice too
🤣
TLDW ???
