Game mode doesn’t have a browser. I would be interested to find out of the steamdeck sales almost directly correlate to this increase. Not that I am complaining, it’s a great way to use a linux desktop experience. I didn’t really read how these numbers were measured.

The other explanation I could think of is that linux desktop is being adopted widely in India. I don’t think that government’s adopting linux desktop accounts for a significant portion of the machines.

My advice: only forward ports 8080 and 443, then make sure that you have fail2ban or crossed properly set up on your reverse proxy. After that, you are pretty much fine as long as you keep on top of updating your containers.

I would be careful about which apps you proxy. Idk why you need to access the admin portal for pi hole worldwide. If you really want to do that, you should set up a vpn.

FreeCAD is a lot more okay than people give it credit for. Perhaps I just remember back to the early days when it was basically unusable.

Wouldn’t it go noticed quickly if a super popular flatpak distribution app is compromised? I love flatpacks for my 5 desktop apps that I actually use everyday, but it is definitely not suitable for general apps I install on a whim.

I’m not super familiar with the goals of the mint project. But this is generally a bad approach to take with project development. Even if you plan on offering LTS, it is always preferable to have users on the most up to date version. Going through the pain of supporting multiple versions of commercial software at work has taught me that lesson the (very) hard way.

I thought the bash history in tron: legacy was kind of clever. There was stuff like vi last_will_and_testament.txt before the computer ducking command. I remember being surprised some prop designer knew enough about computers to set up that easter egg. Although I think I was reading that they contracted out the design of the OS to some team or something.

Whatever the reason is, it probably has very little to do with the described use case since RTOS is a very different use case to desktop copmuters. I didn’t even know that people were making an RTOS that is based on the linux kernel. You could never bring the device support the linux kernel has to the RTOS world.

It just makes no sense to me though, how is it sustainable for nvidia to not have great Linux kernel support? Like, let the kernel maintainers do their job and reap the benefits. I’m guessing that nvidia sees enterprise support contracts as an essential revenue stream, but eventually even enterprises are going to go with hardware that Linus isn’t giving the finger to right? Am I crazy?
