Any response related to the very specific question I asked in this post?

They probably want a feel for what their community thinks rather than getting all the opinions of the random people who never actually watches their channel?
I admit I never watched the original review of the product so… That might be a detail I missed
Well, now that you mention it, the only place where I have had white collar HR meetings like this one was when I worked in the midwest for half a decade. The upper management team there were, coincidentally, the worst rumor mongers and also choose to run all of these in person verbal HR meetings acting in the place of HR. That was also the only environment I’ve been in where the best place to get a promotion or new job opportunities was on the golf course or at the Hooters where the upper management team frequented. Matches up pretty closely with Madison’s experience huh?
All of my other experiences have been east coast based companies where HR just sends out long statements in legalese and had you sign to acknowledge receipt. There were certainly no ambiguous statements like in those.
Uhh really? Points number two and three could easily be interpreted as: “Don’t be oversensitive” and “Don’t believe the allegations of overly sensitive people”. Added to that, the statement that they do not “solve” interpersonal relationships rather than leave your interpersonal relationships outside of the workplace followed by the “anonymous” report forum that apparently existed without anyone’s knowledge? How would you feel if you heard “we don’t solve interpersonal problems but feel free to come to us with feedback.”? Followed by James’ inappropriate joke with zero response from the top management that were both present…
Ok. Yeah, I think this follows the pattern that NG pointed out of the team not properly making corrections/edits to their videos when needed. Pointing it out on this separate smaller platform is equivalent to secretly updating the original video with corrections after millions of viewers have already viewed it and are for sure not going to come back and rewatch just in case it changed. This shitty behavior was already happening back in 2018 except the subject is much more egregious than wrong testing results or specs for hardware.
That’s why I’m asking if he put out a message strongly discouraging this behavior. And, no, ultimately, you have no control of what those fans do in your name. Your responsibility ends if you make a good faith effort to call those fans out for and show strongly that you are not supporting their behavior
Is there a video, stream, forum post showing that Linus encouraged his fan base? Or proof that he discouraged them from continuing the harrassment? Fans get rabid. Comes with the territory. I would not neccessarily blame their actions on the content creator unless they were shown to have encouraged or knew the situation and not adequately discouraged the behavior
Yeah, I guess I was assuming the prototype was in a state where it would still work. Doubly shitty to auction off something that you broke for “charity”.

Unless they get the prototype back, even if they get money, they’ve lost the time it takes to reproduce the prototype. Also, if they haven’t gone through the patent process, some larger company with economies of scale could acquire the unit and beat them to market pretty easily. Ideas are hard to develop but easy to copy and improve upon. LTT/LMG selling the prototype instead of returning it to Billet is just absolutely egregious and indefensible. I’m not even sure how it could have been a mistake.

Things are fine until one day they need to plug this random peripheral/accessory and it’s not plug and play. Then they hate you forever
